The Nazi Alien Conspiracy
The Nazis were not defeated at the end of World War II. Instead, they escaped to Antarctica in a flying saucer constructed by Nazi scientists, where the Schutzstaffel, better known as the SS, continued their struggle against the Freemasons from a hidden base in the German colony of New Swabia, Antarctica. This is the main argument of the supporters of the Nazi Alien Conspiracy.
Since the 1950s many claims about supposed German developments of ground-breaking flying saucer-shaped vessels emerged. These flying vessels were thought to be the same flying saucers witnessed by many people all around the world since the end of the Second World War.
According to the supporters of this theory, UFOs would not be of extraterrestrial origin but man-made. The Nazi saucers are often known also as the V-7 legend as this comes from a reportedly circular aircraft named V-7, which apparently had flown over Prague on February 14, 1945. Besides rumors originating from the self-proclaimed inventors of the vessels and the supporters, there are no original first-hand historical documents about the engineering of saucer-shaped aircrafts by the Germans.
According to them, the Nazis destroyed most of the documents and blueprints before surrendering to or being captured by the Allies and never released the documents due to their extreme strategic significance (Smith 2009).[1].

The origins of this conspiracy theory arose from independent and progressive thinkers. In 1823, Captain John Cleves Symmes, who gave up his military duties to study science, proposed the earth was in fact hollow with the entrance located at the North Pole. His suggested that the universe is made up of concentric circles with a hollow earth surrounding the sun. He proposed an expedition to explore the North Pole but was denied an official investigation by congress, so his ideas rested until 1913 when M. B. Gardner came up with a similar story. He hypothesized the sun was in the middle of the earth and the Northern Lights are actually a radiance of the inner sun.

Admiral Richard Byrd who flew over the North Pole and reported no hole or tunnel leading to the center of the earth soon debunked his theory. Currently there is a society that believes the earth is still hollow and that we live on the inside with the sun on the interior and Australia lingering somewhere over Britain but it is impossible to see.
The Nazis probably become involved in the conspiracy theory when in the 1920's a German team including Wernher von Braun attempted to get escape this hollow earth by way of rocket propelled vehicles to reach Australia. The plan for this team was to either prove or disprove the hollow earth theory by either passing through the hollow earth opening and landing in Australia or not. Many rockets were tested, but mostly ending in explosions. The project came to a close after repeated failures to launch, due to unexpected malfunction [Moore].
The first non-official account of these UFO's was found in Die Deutschen Waffen und Geheimwaffen des 2 Weltkriegs und ihre Weiterentwicklung (Germany's Weapons and Secret Weapons of the Second World War and their Later Development) published in 1964. The author of this book was Major d.R. Rudolf Lusar who supposedly was an engineer who worked in Germany's patent office. He dedicated an entire section to Germany's development of the flying saucers [2].
The project is referred to as the Schriever-Habermohl project. Schriever and Habermohl were both engineers for the saucer project and Schriever was a test pilot. An eyewitness account of a test flight described the saucer as 15 to 18 feet in diameter, about as tall as a man with an outer boarder of 30-40 centimeters. It was "aluminum" in color and rested on 4 thin long legs. It originally started as a Luftwaffe's project but was eventually inherited by the SS (Schutzstaffel) [3].
Although the project was named after the two engineers above, a major contributor to the project was Viktor Schauberger. Schauberger was an Austrian inventor who worked on some of the later designs for the flying saucers and eventually ended up working for the US government due to "Operation Paperclip". The purpose of this operation was to bring the engineers who helped develop the saucers and weapons for Germany to work for the US military because the Germans were far ahead in terms of their weapons technology
